LG G3 admirers in India can mark their calendars for its July 21 launch in
the country and check their wallets to see if they’ve got Rs 46990 to spare. LG
has gone official with the release date of its latest flagship, but it’s online
retail site Infibeam, which has revealed the price of the smartphone in
question.
The LG G3 was made available in the company’s home country of South Korea
back in May with much ado about its 2K touchscreen, a 5.5-inch display offering
a flashy 2560 x 1440p resolution and 538dpi sharpness. You may say that the
quad core processor hiding inside isn’t very impressive considering the Samsung
Galaxy S5′s octa core variant, but then we all know more cores doesn’t
necessarily equal to faster performance.
We can’t
get used to LG’s signature button placement which puts the power key and volume
rockers on the back just below the main camera yet, but the metal body and
edge-to-edge screen on the G3 make up for this in the looks department. The
company has its custom software baked in along with Android KitKat v4.4.2,
though the redesigned interface is pretty uncluttered and bare of signs of
bloatware. On the rear sits a 13MP camera protected by sapphire crystal glass
to prevent scratches to the lens.
We know
you like taking selfies and so does the LG G3 handset which has a special
mechanism to click pictures without having you tap its screen or press a button.
All you have to do is switch to the 2.1MP webcam and make a fist at it with
your free hand. The device will recognize that you want to snap a selfie and
turn on a timer automatically so you only have to hold the phone up to your
face and smile or pout or whatever. The YouTube video we’ve posted below will
give you a better idea of the feature.
